Ecublens, Switzerland May 11th 2011 - 4DigitalBooks is not only known for manufacturing the highest quality of truly unattended automatic book scanning technology, the company is also providing since 7 years a unique high quality scanning with its scanning service bureau.

The Bibliothèque cantonale et universitaire de Lausanne has decided to outsource the digitization of 2.2 Millions pages of bound newspapers. This project is managed in collaboration with the Swiss National Library and the newspaper group Edipresse.

Based on its unique experience and using its Digitizing Line scanners combined with Page Improver software solution, 4DigitalBooks was able to offer a complete end-to-end service with expected quality levels at a competitive price.

Newspapers from 1762 for the oldest, will be scanned with 4DigitalBooks scanners at 300 dpi, then processed with 4DigitalBooks Page Improver software and finally with ABBYY Recognition Server OCR.
